August 23rd

Ashley is moving a lot more. She even stretches when see wakes up. That myelin is regrowing. Of course we would like to see more progess sooner, but Ashley can't control that. Her therapy continues to be intense and they are coordinating with the ADEM experts at Johns Hopkins to make sure Ashley has the best therapy regime possible.

In mid September we will be taking Ashley to I.U. Hospital in Indianapolis for an evaluation by Dr. Mattson, a neuroimmunology there.

Our prayer theme continues to be rapid myelin regrowth and the return of motor skill controls for Ashley.

Every day I pray for Ashley but if I'm really really busy I use The Thumb Prayer. You can do it on anything, such as your hand, a table, or a blanket. Using your thumb, make a cross. On the downward stroke, whisper "Jesus". On the across stroke whisper who you want to pray for, such as Ashley. Love Angela

Hello, Harringtons!
I was wondering if you would read any of these "blogs" to Ashley? I wish I could be home every weekend to see her (heck, I wish her room was right next to my apartment!), but for those stretches when all of Ash's friends can't make it home, can these serve as little "text messages?" Or is there another way?
Thank you for reading :)

Our prayers continue each day for all of you. Wanted to share with you what Father John said at the 1st school Mass on Wednesday. The Mass was centered around Mary. He told the school students that he has witnessed a love of a mother so great in the love of Ashley's mother Mary. I'm not putting it as eloquently as Father John did, but the point was so true. The power of this prayer community is evident. Give Ashley our love.

My ten-year-old daughter met Ashley through swim team this summer. We remember Ashley at prayer time every night. We pray for her complete recovery.
