This is Ashley's last full day in Fort Wayne for the foreseeable future. The folks at Select Specialty Hospital have cared for and aided Ashley in her rehabilitation for seven weeks.
Ashley's birthday is not until the 25th, but one of the nurses shares her birth date, and knowing that she would be leaving before that decide to throw Ashley a surprise party yesterday. She brought a large cake, balloons and a card signed by many of the staff that have worked with Ashley. Ashley was sitting up at the time and the glow and smile that came over her face was priceless. We will post a picture soon.
Ashley is participating in her last therapy sessions at Select today. It will be hard to say goodbye to those wonderful people. They have become like family.
Tomorrow Ashley will be traveling to the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (www.ric.org). It has been rated as the best rehabilitation hospital in America for the past 17 years. Once again we have been blessed that Ashley will receive the best possible care.
Mary will be staying in Chicago with Ashley. Austin and I plan to visit on the weekends.
Please continue to pray for Ashley's speedy and full recovery.

Hey, Ash! It was so great to see you this past weekend. Oh, and you squeezed my hand and made my day! I hope I quenched some of your thirst for Celebrity Gossip, haha. The MTV VMAs were last night, and Britney Spears did "sang" her new release. First off, it sounds like all of her other songs, so it's definitely not earth-shattering. Techno-y with a computerized voice, because God knows the girl can't sing. SECOND, she weighs probably as much as I do, if not more, and she was "dancing" around in a bra and panties. And that's it. 2BCont...
And she was sloppy and lazy in her "dancing." All of the tabloids said it was pretty horrible. But don't worry, my lover Justin Timberlake was all over the VMAs and he can make anything good. hahah
Anyway, I'm excited for you for the Big Move to Chi-Town! And I can't wait to visit. Which I'm hoping will be pretty soon, within a few weeks. GET EXCITED!!! :)
As always, Ash, you're in my heart, in my prayers.
I love you!!

Keeping with the VMA talk. I wanted to cry for Britney, it was so sad. She lip-synced, but very poorly. She half-danced the entire performance. She just looked scared and nervous. And then, Sarah Silverman came out to do a comedy monologue where she just made fun of Britney and her kids. It was awful! Actually, the whole VMA's very awful, and Zac Efron wasn't even there! I have some more Zac news, but I'm going to have to write it to you in a card or something, b/c its kinda big! Love you Ash!

Hey Ash! Sorry I've been kind of out of touch lately but with school starting and our internet being down half of the time, its been kind of difficult to keep up with things, oh well, as my parents say its all a part of growing up. Speaking of that I am SOO ecstatic that you are moving up to the big city tomorrow!! I wonder if you'll have a pretty view of Lake Michigan, oh and the American Girl Place and the Cheesecake Factory!! They're such fun places!! Remember that time last christmas that you and I went to the Cheesecake factory in keystone and shopped while your dad worked?? we ate SOO much but it was SOO fun!! Keep getting better I LOVE YOU!
