Coming off of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend Ashley did not miss a beat in therapy. Lutheran now has a harness that will support Ashley while she uses either a stair master or treadmill (photo posted in the right column). Ashley set a personal best with walking this weekend when she covered 75 feet in assisted walking. Ashley initiated every step and most of the time moved her feet forward to complete the step. It takes time and a combination of concentration and energy from Ashley that is exhausting, but she is motivated.
On Saturday there was a fundraiser dinner for Ashley at St. Vincent’s. The committee was hoping for 250 people. A total of 344 tickets were sold. It is hard to convey the grateful feelings we all felt as we looked across the full cafeteria and still saw a long line of people that braved the snow and ice falling outside.
Mr. Proulx, the St. Vincent’s music teacher, and his Jazz Band played all evening.

We had an opportunity to speak with and thank many of the parishioners and friends that have been supporting us since Ashley was struck with ADEM. We wish we could have thanked everyone individually and let them know how much their prayers and support mean to us. We certainly want to thank the dozens of volunteers that planned and work at the benefit. We were blessed with a beautiful evening with loving friends and it was made possible by the hard work done by so many!
In particular we want to thank the Briscoes, Leonards, Nills and Pollifrones who spearheaded this effort and have so generously given of their time to take on this endeavor.
Fathers John and Jason chatted with us and we had an opportunity to thank them for presiding over such a generous parish.

Because of the tremendous response from so many we are well on our way to securing the funds for a permanent van. I say permanent because we were told by Jay Leonard that a fellow parishioner Jeff O’Daniel of O’Daniel Ford was providing us with a conversion van they had taken in on trade. That van now sits in our driveway and will play a key role in our ability to go out as a family this Christmas season.
The students of Ashley’s alma mater (and Austin’s current high school) Bishop Dwenger invited us to celebrate The Immaculate Conception Mass with them today. Following the mass the student council presented us with a check from a fundraiser they organized to contribute to the purchase of our van. Yet another example of how God has surrounded us with his loving people.

Lauren was thrilled to see you, it's been quite a while... and i could tell by the look on your face that you could hardly believe how much little Lauren has changed! She is Holly's big Little sister! Everything about the night was just perfect! the friends... the food... the entertainment... I know I was embarrassing the girls but if there was a dance floor available i would have been shakin my groove thing even more than i was! That music was AWESOME!!
What a group of talented people!! Thanks be to the Lord for the help from Mr. O'Daniel, now you can travel in style for all of the Christmas Activities and parties you have been invited to! Hey... Dont forget the Festival of lights, you can drive thru and admire the twinkling lights from a window view!!! Holly has two more finals to finish up and then she is done for the semester!!! We have lots to do to get her ready for her trip to Italy!! But i'm sure she will be stopping by before then. She has a few surprises for you under our tree!!!
You continue to be in our prayers... give a hug to everyone for us... Love you all!!! Claudia and gang

Hello Ashley, Jeff Mary and Austin,
Hope your week has been a good one! We're counting down the days at our house and looking forward to spending time with family and friends over the holidays. Everything is all decorated, the cards are all in the mail and the gifts are all wrapped!! Now I just have to complete the details for Lauren's Christmas formal and then onto planning the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day menus! sounds like alot of food in our future! Oh well that's what new years resolutions are for! Holly was laid up for a few days with a sinus infection, but is starting to feel herself! She is totally finished with classes for the semester and is setting her sights on ROME!!!! She needs to unwrap alot of her Christmas gifts so she can begin packing her bags! The kids are getting pretty restless at school... You can tell it's almost time for SANTA!!! Stay warm Harrington"s! We love you all! God's blessings for a Christmas full of Miracles!! Claudia Schnurr and Gang!
Dear Jeff and Mary and Ashley and Austin,
Merry Christmas and a Great New Year. And it will be.
Love,A.Kathy and U.Dave xx
Hey Ashley... Was just checking my
email and was thinking about you !
How's the new van working out???
It's probably much easier for all of you and hey... I'm sure it handles well in all of the snow and ice we've been having!(not like those little cars that slide all over the place!!) I'm making my list and checking it twice... still have alot to do to get ready for all of our company on Christmas Day but it'll all get done eventually! Only two more days of teaching! The kids are so excited, I absolutely love working with the little ones! For instance our 1st graders went to sing at a nearby retirement home and when one of the teachers asked them where they were going to sing they replied:" The Funeral Home" Oh my Gosh!!! what a Riot!!!
Out of the mouth of children! I hope you all are staying warm. We think of you each and every day!!! Love and hugs Claudia and gang
Hey Harringtons,
In our thoughts this Christmas, and continued prayers for a 2009 full of "leaps and bounds" in therapy:):)
Always in our hearts,
The Quintairos and Bergnes families...(from Miami)
Hey Harringtons,
Just wanted to wish all of you the Merriest Christmas and a New year full of Answered Prayers!!
We had no power for a day and a half and then when our power finally kicked on my mom's kicked off so we have had house guests for several days.I hope all of you are staying warm and that your end of town has not suffered any outages!! We are working in full gear now trying to get ready for the holidays!! Now that Lauren's formal is just a memory we can move on to the next event! Lauren Looked gorgeous in her black formal with white gloves and diamonds diamonds diamonds!! Need I say more! A real live Audrey Hepburn!! We even fixed her hair to look like Audrey! Holly will have to bring some pics to show you as soon as we get them developed! We are expecting a big crowd for christmas Day!! Lots to do yet... Then we have to leave the next morning to take Holly to OHare for her flight to Italy! I don't think it's really hit any of us yet that she is actually going! Jerry got her an international phone so that she can keep us informed of her whereabouts and she has been busy reading all of the materials that were given to her concerning the Pilgrimage itself!!
Lot's of prayers will surely be said for You and your Family!!!
We will be thinking of all of you this christmas! May Jesus who Loves you more than life itself bless you and shower you with His Love!!! We love You Ashley!!!
claudia and Gang!!!!
