February 13th

Ashley had a busy day yesterday (Monday). She had two doctor’s appointments and one dental appointment. First of all we are proud to report that Ashley has no cavities! Actually we were high fiv’n Ashley since she followed the dental technicians instructions to open her mouth, hold X-ray films in place and sit still for the exposures. Those X-rays showed that her oral health was quite good.

In addition to the 6 month checkup the dentist looked at her loose front tooth. Turns out he will be able to reposition it and have it back to looking as good as ever. Ashley’s smile will return to its original brilliance soon.

Her doctor appointments were with the family doctor and a neurosurgeon. Both appointments concluded with positive comments.

Last week in therapy, and repeatedly at home, Ashley moved her legs on request. In a seated position the therapist placed a ball on her feet and asked her to ‘kick’ it off. It took awhile but Ashley moved both legs causing the ball to fall off. She has repeated this motor skill at home with a balloon. Ashley has wiggled her toes for several months, but this was the first time she coordinated a move of both legs on request.

Ashley has enjoyed visits from family and friends. Her grandparents are coming up from Florida this week. Hopefully they will bring some warmer weather with them. We can’t wait to be able to take Ashley for walks outside so we are routing for spring.

We are in the first week of lent and we know that so many of you are including Ashley and our family in your pray intentions. We thank you for continued support, and Happy Valentine's Day.

Dear Ashley,
First of all, Happy early Valentine's Day to one of the sweetest people in the world! I am so sad because I wanted to come over tomorrow so badly, but I am definitely fighting off a horrible cold that will not go away (boo), and I am definitely not going to bring all my icky germs to your house! I miss you!
I taught my third graders for the first time today at Bethlehem Lutheran, and I had no voice whatsoever. Good thing the whole purpose of the lesson was to see how well I could tell a story to kids! haha! They loved the story though, regardless of my horrible voice, and I think my first lesson went really well.
I am also glad that all of your appointments went so well today! Was that Dr. Teel that you visited today? He is such a nice man, he will definitely make your smile good as new! I am also excited to hear that you are now kicking! I was always bad at kickball, I hated when we played that in gym! Remember that?! (Ok now laughing at you picturing me in gym again :) The only gym activity I stood a chance at was line dancing! haha
I miss you, and as soon as I feel better I am inviting myself over again! haha! See you soon!
Luv U! XOXOXOXO
Holly

Hi Ashley. Grandma and Grandpa have arrived! I read the blog today with Grandma. We are so happy to hear all the good news. You do realize that you will have to show off your kicking skills a lot this weekend. Grandma and Grandpa will be there tomorrow, Friday, and they can't wait to see you and Austin. We love you. Hi Ashley and All,
It's good to hear the latest update. You've been busy! We are finishing our vacation and heading home. I can't wait to see you. I miss the grandkids, too. Tessa says Chloe has really grown. Matt ended up doing some work while we were down here.
I plan on coming up Friday the 22nd. and spending the night if that's ok. I'll be in touch to check your schedule. Have a nice visit with your grandma and grandpa. I love you, see you soon. Aunt Ann

Ash -
Stupid question, but if I wanted to send you a card, what's your address (or PO box, or w/e)?
