September 16th

Hi all!

It has been quite busy around the Harrington household, but I felt a short update was better than no update at all.

Courtesy of a neighbor that is a therapist Ashley now has a walker (pictured). This walker has raised arm supports so Ashley can have support for her forearms and hold handles in front of her and walk. This is a huge advancement for Ashley. Although we still right there to assist her if needed Ashley is not st raped in like the gait trainer. The only support she has from the walker is with her forearms.

Ashley is making strides with walking that exceed any other area of improvement to date. She is even taking reciprocal steps (one step followed immediately by another). It is biggest high to watch her do that! She still needs patterning, but the progress she is making is truly breathtaking.

We have always had faith that Ashley would walk again. Now we have the proof that she will indeed do it.

Please keep those 'Walk, Talk and Eat' prayers coming because they are working. God Bless!

Ash--

Hey, girl, hey! Glad to hear you're getting the hang of that walker-thingie-majig. I know how excited I was watching you do it this summer and I'm sure you are just breezing right along now! That's great! Consecutive steps! Yay! That's so much accomplished from last time!

I was so happy to get a (quick) change to talk to you on the phone. I miss you a lot. I can't wait to come home this weekend so I can see you on Sunday. Remember to tell your mom that we finished TWILIGHT around chapter 14 or 15.

I don't have too much to update. It's "same old, same old" down here at Purdue. I'm sure I will think of something to share with you by Sunday. You know me, I can talk 'til the cows come home! (by the way, where DOES that saying come from? And did I even use it correctly?!)

I love you, Ashley. Keep up the amazing work. I'm praying for you all the time. My rosary and I are becoming best friends (but in case anyone asks, we've been steady for years haha!)and I think of you on every bead. Walk! Talk! Eat! You're getting there, sweetheart!

XoXo,

Emily*

Dear Ashley,
Praise the Lord! We're so happy to hear the news. Keep going honey, you're closer than you think. There is nothing stopping you now. We can't wait to see you walk down to the dock at the Lake. It was nice to see Austin last weekend. Give our love to everyone. We love you, Aunt Lynn, Uncle Stan and Angela.
